Welcome to Shri Ram Singh Dhoni Government Degree College. I am delighted to say that our college, located in the remote hills of Uttarakhand, has been active in facilitating quality education in the field of Science, Humanities and Commerce, since 1996. As a historian, I feel extremely proud to lead an institution which honors Shri Ram Singh Dhoni- a great freedom fighter who was also an educator and social reformer.

We are a group of dedicated teachers, supportive administrative staff and motivated students who are determined to overcome structural and everyday challenges. We are committed to excel in teaching- learning process, making maximum use of limited resources available to us and working toward instilling greater human values within us.

The intake capacity for Undergraduate program is 930 students in all faculties together. The intake capacity for Postgraduate program is 180 students in Political Science, Hindi and Sanskrit faculties combined together. The college encourages students to take active participation in extra-curricular activities through committees like Cultural Organization, Career Counseling Cell, NSS, and Sports. ‘Hariyali Mission’ and ‘Polythene Unmoolan’ committees take initiatives like cleaning drive, tree plantation, waste management and plastic ban. The college also has Anti-Drug Cell which works to spread awareness regarding substance abuse and its harmful impact on our health and society. In the times when higher education is undergoing major changes due to implementation of NEP-2020, our students are encouraged to develop their personality by learning basic communication and computer skills.

My vision for the college is to create a student-centered learning environment where they feel welcomed and valued. I believe in empowering young men and women to dream for a bright future and become an ideal citizen of our nation.
