About College
Shri Ram Singh Dhoni Rajkiya Mahavidyalay was established on 31st March 1996.The college is named after Ram Singh Dhoni, a local freedom fighter who blazed a trail for his fellow citizens by his exemplary sacrifice during the tumultuous freedom struggle in India. The college is located in the geographically remote hamlet of Jainti in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. It is spread over an area of 2.4 acres. The college being situated atop a hill commands a panoramic view of the rolling hills dotted by villages, lush green vegetation and sprawling valleys. Since the college is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Jainti town , it makes for an appropriate setting as an ideal learning place for the students who predominantly hail from rural background.

Welcome to Shri Ram Singh Dhoni Government Degree College. I am delighted to say that our college, located in the remote hills of Uttarakhand, has been active in facilitating quality education in the field of Science, Humanities and Commerce, since 1996. As a historian, I feel extremely proud to lead an institution which honors Shri Ram Singh Dhoni- a great freedom fighter who was also an educator and social reformer.
